Terms & Conditions
These terms govern purchases from Baranka Books. By placing an order, you agree to them.

2. Orders, prices & VAT
Prices are shown in EUR and include VAT. Books, ebooks, and our personalised readings all carry the reduced 9% Dutch rate: it’s the finished book that’s rated, not the work behind it. On sales to other EU countries we apply the Dutch rate up to the €10,000 cross-border threshold, then each destination’s own rate under the OSS scheme. Orders delivered outside the EU carry no EU VAT. Some titles are available now — dispatched, or downloaded instantly for ebooks — while others sell as pre-orders, where you pay at checkout and we fulfil on release; each product page says which. Physical editions add delivery, calculated at checkout. Payment is processed securely by Stripe; we never see your card details, and an order is confirmed once payment completes.
3. Delivery
Physical orders ship worldwide from the Netherlands (in-stock titles dispatch now; pre-orders once the title is released); ebooks and personalised readings are delivered digitally. Delivery times, costs, and returns are set out on the Shipping & Returns page.
4. Personalised readings
Our personalised readings are bespoke products, made to order from your details. After ordering, your order confirmation email carries a button to a short questionnaire — for the Celestial Codex, your full birth name and your birth date, time and place — and the reading is written from exactly what you provide, so accurate answers matter. Each reading is delivered as a digital book; a physical heirloom edition, if you add one, is printed one-of-one for you.
5. Returns & cancellation
Physical Brasa di Alma books follow the EU 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you receive them: return postage is at your cost (deducted from the refund), and the original standard delivery is refunded (see Shipping & Returns). Digital and made-to-order items are final: ebooks, and every personalised reading (both the digital book and the one-of-one printed edition), because they are delivered immediately or personalised for one person. Once you consent to this at checkout, the 14-day withdrawal right no longer applies, and these items can’t be cancelled, returned, or refunded.
6. Liability, complaints & governing law
Our personalised readings are offered for reflection and enjoyment. They are not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice and should not be relied on as such.
Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer, or our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited. Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Have a complaint? Email us first at orders@barankabooks.com. Describe the problem fully and we’ll confirm receipt within 14 days, with a considered reply in the same window (if we need longer to look into it, we’ll tell you when to expect a full answer). We’d rather put things right than leave you unhappy.
If we can’t resolve it together, you can take an EU-wide dispute to the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform. These terms are governed by Dutch law, and disputes fall to the competent Dutch court, without affecting the mandatory protections of the consumer law of your own country of residence.
7. Model withdrawal form
Most of what we sell — ebooks and made-to-order readings — is exempt from the right of withdrawal once delivery or authoring has begun, and you agree to that at checkout (see section 5). For any order that does still carry the 14-day right, you can use the form below to withdraw. You don’t have to — any clear statement by email is enough — but this is the official template.
(Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.)
